March Update

It's been a few weeks since our last post. But we're back with lots of exciting news to share. So what's been happening at Urban Interns?

• Urban Interns turns One!! That's right. On February 18, we celebrated our one year anniversary. And what a year it's been. We took a moment to reflect on how thankful we are for becoming a go-to resource for small business owners looking to hire and talented job seekers looking for part-time positions and internship. Now we look forward and continue our national expansion.
• The Trend Towards Virtual Positions Continues: As we reported in our February Trend and Insight Report, nearly one-third of the positions posted on Urban Interns are virtual. And when you think about it, virtual internships make so much sense! So many of the tasks that business owners need help with can be done from anywhere (like social media and blogging, the top two tasks for the last five months). Why be constrained by geographic locations when you don't need to be.
• Our column, Hire Up, made it's debut in WomenEntrepreneur.com: Don't miss our monthly column on the hiring trends every business owner needs to know about. Check it out here
• Press, press and more press: In case you missed any of our recent articles, some of the highlights have been a great article in Inc. and a visit to Fox Business News!
• Summer hiring season is here. That's right. Don't let the fact that it's March confuse you. Now is the time to think about summer positions. With this in mind, see Business Journalist Donna Fenn's recent post on BNet about Tips for Managing Interns. Thanks to Donna for including us.
